Their difference lies in that there is a black case on the top edge of the wifi plus 3g version. It is used to hold the 3g iPad communication module during installation. The two versions are not compatible to each other.
    The iPad back cover is designed with threaded lines on the inside. This is a very particular design that makes it easier to install other iPad parts such as the motherboard and battery to the back cover.
    The iPad Back Housing is pretty large compared to the cell phone back housings and scratches more easily. It is advisable to cover the iPad back housing with a protective case in order to prevent scratches and other damage.
