Apple updated the iPod nano line in 2006, a year after the first generations' initial release. The second generation iPod nano features scratch resistant glass, anodized aluminun casing available in multiple color options, and a brighter screen. The battery life was increased from 14 hours (first generation) to 24 hours, and the storage sizes were doubled to 2,4 & 8 gigabyte options.
